The EU Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) applies to both commercial & residential property, but in different ways. We have put the two articles below together to answer the most common questions about the energy legislation and regulations.

For Residential property owners
All homes marketed for sale or rent will require an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) that will contain information on the property’s energy efficiency and estimated running costs.

Home Information Packs
From the 14th December 2007 any property that is marketed for sale in England and Wales will need a Hip. To find out how this effects you click here
Commercial property owners
Under the Energy Performance of Building’s Directive, there are two types of energy certificate required for new and existing commercial buildings over 1000m2 from April 2008.
